When going out on patrol, solders were to proceed to a distinguishable landmark. When there, they were to report their position by radio. That was to ensure that if they got into trouble, our artillery could offer immediate support.
But what really happened was the enemy would open fire.
It didn't take rocket scientest to figger out what was happoning. The minuite they radioed in, artillery would rain down on them. Sometimes whipeing out an entire patrol. As soon as they radioed in, company would notify batallion, and batallion would notify corps, and so on. Until it reached the top level. Where a Russian general was in command.
Since Korea was a UN operation, America was obligated to report to the UN. Which meant to a Russian.
This had Truman's blessing. General Dougals MacArthor got fired over this.
The UN has been a discrace all along. The resignation of John Bolton is depressing. Only an ass-kissing comminust is acceptable to the Democrates, or the wicked corrupt UN.
